In February when we found out we were expecting, we also found out that Charles had a big work project on the horizon. Because his new sales territory includes Alabama, he would have to visit every Lowe’s store in the near territory, as well as all of his Georgia stores. Each store visit would include a full day of resets and moving displays. As the year went by and my due date got closer and closer, the project kept getting pushed back because of circumstances outside of his control. When the company finally decided to set an “official” start date, it was September 30th. Just great…
Anyways, Charles was planning ahead and tried to get as much done beforehand as possible. We came home on Tuesday, Oct. 1. It begged him to stay home just one more day with me, but that is all he could get away from work. So, on Thursday Oct. 3, he headed out to start his resets. Luckily his first few days were stores close to home, so he would leave early in the morning and come home late at night. He was working so hard and so exhausted that I tried to take over the full night shift. We split the nights in half a few times but honestly, he needed the sleep to be able to function the next day. So, Owen (in his bassinet) and I would sleep in the living room.
