Well today started out pretty…unplanned?
I left for work pretty early this morning while Charles stayed at home to meet with the mold company at the kennel. They have been working for the last few weeks down there on the mold remediation and were here on their final day to pick up their supplies and do a final walk-thru. I was about 30 minutes away from home when Charles called frantically to tell me that “the roof collapsed” at the kennel. PANIC MODE-the mold remediation group called in a crew of workers immediately. Apparently a pipe had broken in the ceiling of the kennel in two places and had been running for at least 24 hours. The entire drywall and insulation from the ceiling had fallen in. It was a total mess. A crew of workers showed up quickly and worked from 8 AM until 10 PM. They filled a large dumpster with all the debris and brought in 30+ fans and air-scrubbers to run for the next couple weeks.
So, back home that afternoon, working in my office and listening to as much Christmas music as possible, I see something out of the corner of my eye. Lo and behold…IT’S A MO– USE! He scurries into my office under the door, stops for a few seconds, looks at me (all while I’m frozen in place) and then scurries back out.
Of course I call Charles in a panic! His response? “So you finally saw him, huh?” Apparently the first mouse sightings had not been brought to my attention. Well, just add that to the to-do list…
