Snow Storm! – The Paulk Pack

Snow Storm!

On Tuesday, Kristin, Rob, Owen and I went to downtown Alpharetta to run some errands while we dropped of the “Pet Taxi” for service. The forecast was calling for snow but we never seem to get much. We ran some errands and stopped in at Hop Alley for lunch while they were finishing up the car.

At lunch, we noticed the snow was coming down quickly so we wrapped up lunch and went to get the car. The roads were already getting fairly slick and Rob decided to drive the Scion home for us. Once we got on Birmingham Hwy, we were sliding all over and then came to a standstill because of a bus that was stuck. We turned around and took another route home, through back roads and lots of small traffic jams, and after another hour or so, FINALLY pulled into the driveway. The snow was still coming down and we barely made it up the drive.

I am not going to lie, I was really nervous with having Owen in the back seat. I kept re-playing scenarios of us hiking home in the snow! Of course, Charles was out of town in Birmingham and they got the storm before we did. Luckily he had a hotel reserved already because there was no way to get out.

Traffic in Atlanta made national headlines. Schools and businesses let out midday and the entire city was gridlocked. People were sleeping in their cars and surrounding stores. It was awful, to say the least.

During our time in the snow, we got creative and found ways to entertain ourselves at the house. The dogs were stir crazy and Owen was not sold on this cold weather. Charles finally made it home today and we are SO happy to see him.
