I LOVE having a stocked freezer {you should know this by now}, so when Tiffany asked me to do a cook day, I was happy to oblige! I pulled some recipes that were tried and true, invited some friends and made our shopping list! Kristin and I did some trial runs for newer recipes beforehand to make sure they were up to par. So, this past Sunday, Kristin A., Anna, Tiffany, Eileen, Jenny and Nikki came over and we went to work! We made the following recipes (click for links):
- Kristin’s White Chicken Chili
- Chicken Pot Pie
- Chicken Taquitos
- Chicken Tetrazzini
- Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole
- Crockpot BBQ Chicken
- Crockpot Italian Chicken
We had a total of six “shares” of meals we were preparing, so the pressure was on to get the grocery shopping spot on. I ended up making trips to Sam’s Club, Aldi, Publix, another Publix and back to Sam’s Club. I bought 70 chicken breasts, 6 rotisserie chickens and TONS of fresh produce. No, the meals were not gluten-free, organic or paleo. But, they WERE good meals and some were definitely comfort foods in my book. Anyways, we ended up spending about $112 each and took home 20+ dinners. We also had a LOT of fun hanging out, gossiping and shredding cooked chicken…LOL. My freezer is stocked and I’m already planning our next get-together. 🙂
