So what does one do three weeks before their due date to pass the time? Start another renovation project! So, this is the LAST interior project for a LONG time, but our living room was a garage at one time (before we lived here) and there was a support beam right in the very middle of the room. It has always been awkward to place furniture in this room and there is always a pole in the middle of our conversations. So, it was finally time for it to go!

We had a carpenter named Gary who helped us with the demo, purchasing a twenty four foot header, installing and getting everything back in order. After he had completed installing the header, another contractor we used to renovate the other side of the house, Santana, came in to finish painting and install the faux wood beams. Lastly, we had the floors patched where the beam was and then refinished to match the rest of the house that was done a few months ago. Thankfully this all happened before Charlotte’s arrival.

After Charlotte was born, we still had to put the finishing touches on the room. Shelby helped us order a rug through her work that was 15 feet by 14 feet and we got a sofa from Macy’s. Window treatments were the same ones we have in several other rooms of the house-roman shades ordered from SelectBlinds.com. I still have some things that need to go up on the walls, but I will probably sit back and think about that for several months before I actually take the plunge…ha!
