This was my view today. Nice, right? I mean, sure it looked relaxing. Truth be told, it was a sh*tty day. By that, I mean, I sat here waiting for all these animals to poop…yep, that’s right! I scooped all the poop from our yard, and then we waited…and waited. We collected “samples” to ship across the country for fecal analysis. The samples are time and temperature sensitive in order to get accurate readings. That means that each sample got collected in a tiny labeled baggie….and then spent the night in a box in Charles’ beer fridge. LOL
Parasites are the root of most health issues in farm animals, so getting the reports back for each species will help us decide what products to use to treat. Tomorrow morning, I’ll be heading up to the local UPS Store to ship off a box (yeh, that’s wierd), packed with several ice packs, to MidAmerica Agricultural Research. I really hope they don’t ask me what I’m shipping…
Once they have been analyzed, we will get an email with results for the alpacas, horses, donkeys and even a couple of the chickens. I know you are all anxiously awaiting the numbers like I am! HA
